The Needham Twins
The Needham Twins, Jerry and
Larry, have
enjoyed
singing all their lives. (It’s
rumored
that
they cried in harmony the day they
were
born!)
It
wasn’t until 1964 that they discovered the
power of their music to entertain and
delight audiences.
The
twins were in the Dominican Republic
during the hostilities there, serving with
The 82nd Airborne Division.
They got
together during lulls in the fighting to
sing a few songs. An officer
overheard them
and when their unit was sent back to the
states, the twins were assigned to sing in the
Division Chorus.
From
there they were transferred to the
Third Army Soldier Shows and spent the rest
of their three-year hitch singing for
audiences, civilian and military alike, all
over the South-
east.
Following
their release from the service
they returned to their hometown,
Cleveland, Ohio where they were born and
raised in a family of ten children. They
toured the Eastern United States and after
one year they settled in Nashville, Tennessee
for twelve years, performing with
many
famous entertainers.
The
Needham Twins have traveled
and entertained throughout the
Southeast,
the Midwest and Canada. Now residing in
beautiful Mesa, Arizona year-round,
they perform throughout the Phoenix
area.
Many
labels have been pinned on the Twins’
music - rock, pop, country and folk.
All of
these fit and yet none of them do. Their
style is all their own and must be heard to
be appreciated. Their music
comes from the
heart. They communicate their enthusiasm
to the audience, and it spreads at the speed of sound.
EVERYONE GOES HOME A LITTLE HAPPIER AFTER A SHOW BY
